I saw a light
Deep at night
Down by the riverside

I fought against the tide

I feel alive
I called darkness my home
Shadows my friends
Fear was my closest companion
I saw the white in the eyes of demons
Within the deepest tracts of my soul!
Disconnected from the roots of the universe
Deaf to the pulse of the earth
Hope was a dream for the living
And death a dream of my own!
Now I see the light
Down by the riverside
It feels familiar, yet unknown to the eye
It speaks to me, wordless yet so clear
It speaks through me
And saves me from my fear!
